Ingredients
Pre packaged sugar cookie dough
Or pre made sugar cookie dough
All purpose flour
½ Cup finely crushed hard red candy (or more)

Supplies
Large heart shaped cookie cutter
Small heart shaped cookie cutter
Cookie sheet
Tin foil
Rolling pin

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line cookie sheets with tin foil. Sprinkle some flour on a work surface and begin rolling out the cookie dough.

Cut out several large heart shaped cookies and then cut a small heart shape out of the center of them. Transfer the sugar cookies to the prepared cookie sheets and then fill each of the holes with the crushed red candy.

Bake for approximately eight to 10 minutes until the edges start to turn brown and the candy has melted in the center. It’s important to let the cookies cool for a minute or more on the cookie sheet before transferring them to a wire rack so the cookie and the stained glass has a chance to harden and settle.

If you’d like to add a little more to your valentine’s day stained glass cookies, pipe pink or red frosting around the edges with a star frosting tip.
