Printer-friendly version
Have you found the perfect Valentine’s Day gift? When it comes to gift giving, presentation is everything, but you don’t have to spend very much to make your gift look stylish and appealing. Here are 3 great ideas to help your Valentine’s Day gift look extravagant to go that extra mile:
Maps and Newspapers
When wrapping a Valentine’s Day gift for your significant other, use a map in place of wrapping paper. Select a map of the place you honeymooned, the place he proposed, or a place you someday plan to travel together. You can also save the comic sections from your Sunday paper and use them as wrapping paper.
Scarves
If you’re buying a Valentine’s Day gift for a girlfriend, wrap the gift using a silk scarf. This way you’re really giving her two gifts in one. Put the gift in the center of the scarf, gather the ends of the scarf together and then tie it together with a ribbon. You can also attach n old brooch through the center of the bow for a beautiful decorative accent.
Recycle Tissue Paper
Instead of buying new tissue paper, use pink, white, or red tissue paper that you have saved. Victoria’s Secret, for example, has really beautiful tissue paper that is worth saving. For instance, say you plan on buying lingerie, save the tissue paper from the shopping bag. Tissue paper, when layered so that it is not see-through, makes great Valentine’s Day wrapping paper.
